To create a systematic summary of trainees’ experiences gained from teaching practice that aimed to help trainees to get acquainted with the teaching profession under the supervision of the school-based mentor. The portfolio should also contain the trainees’ experiences gained from their individual teaching practice and from the seminars that aimed to aid the above process. (Appendix 4, 15/2006. IV. 3. Ministry of Education Regulation). Making a portfolio also aims to create an organised collection of relevant documents as part of the thesis that makes it possible to trace the process of becoming a teacher and contains the trainees’ reflections.

Tartalom angol

The products to be included in the portfolio should be created by the trainees themselves and they should reflect and monitor the trainee’s professional and pedagogical development. The trainee makes their portfolio by including their works designed or created during their disciplinary, psychology, pedagogy, education, methodology theoretical and practical studies and school-based practice. Trainees should include at least one document in each of the above mentioned field and these documents should demonstrate each competency that had to be acquired in the course of teacher training. These competencies are the following: • Development of student personality • Helping the formation of study groups and student communities • Planning the education process • The development of students’ literacy, abilities and skills by utilizing knowledge • Developing those competencies that will establish lifelong learning • Organizing and managing the learning process • Applying various assessment techniques and methods • Professional cooperation and communication • Self-education, commitment to professional development
