Cél angol

This course provides an elementary introduction to probability and statistics with applications. The course objectives are to learn the language and core concepts of probability theory and apply them to basic problems which can be used for pupils' math.

Tartalom angol

Topics include: basic combinatorics, random variables, probability distributions, distributions, quantiles, mean variance, conditional probability, Bayes' theorem, joint distributions, independence, central limit theorem, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and linear regression.

There will be one mid-term and a final. Grade for the course will be 40% on the mid-term, and 60% on the final. The exams will be closed-book.
